5ème plus grande île de Croatie, Pag est aussi une des plus désertique. Située à 10km au Nord de Zadar, l’île s’étire tout en longueur le long de la côte entre les parcs nationaux du Velebit et de Paklenica. Faisant 60km de long pour plus de 300km de superficie, l’île est dominée par le Sveti Vid qui culmine à 348m et qui fait partie de la même chaîne montagneuse que le Velebit. Au Nord, à moins de 5km se trouve l’île de Rab.
Le Sud de l’île est situé à fleur d’eau alors que le Nord est abrupt et escarpé. La majorité de l’île est recouverte de roche beige avec ici et là quelques arbustes et buissons bas typiquement méditerranéens. 2 petits lacs karstiques sont recensés au cœur de l’île. À première vue, l’île semble peu hospitalière et uniquement peuplée de chèvres. Ses paysages contrastent fortement avec les autres îles du pays.
The 5th largest island in Croatia, Pag is also one of the most deserted. Located 10km north of Zadar, the island stretches along the coast between the Velebit and Paklenica national parks. 60km long and more than 300km in area, the island is dominated by Sveti Vid which peaks at 348m and which is part of the same mountain range as Velebit. To the north, less than 5km away, is the island of Rab.
The south of the island is located at the water's edge while the north is abrupt and steep. The majority of the island is covered in beige rock with here and there a few typically Mediterranean shrubs and low bushes. 2 small karst lakes are identified in the heart of the island. At first glance, the island seems unwelcoming and populated only by goats. Its landscapes contrast sharply with the other islands of the country.

La ville est située au nord-ouest de Zadar au cœur d'une lagune, le noyau antique de la ville s'étend sur un ilot dont le diamètre est de seulement 500 mètres. Elle est reliée au continent par deux ponts de pierre. Au nord, au sud et à l'ouest, elle est entourée de plages de sable longues et peu profondes tandis qu'à l'est s’étendent des champs de sel.
Nin est la première et la plus ancienne ville royale de Croatie. Sa vieille ville ne fait que 500 mètres de large. Elle abrite une architecture exceptionnelle.
La ville au passé antique, âgée de 3 000 ans, compte parmi les villes les plus anciennes de la côte adriatique orientale. Elle a été fondée par les Liburniens au ixe siècle av. J.-C. et a fait office de port maritime et de centre d'affaires.
The city is located northwest of Zadar in the heart of a lagoon, the ancient core of the city extends over an island whose diameter is only 500 meters. It is connected to the mainland by two stone bridges. To the north, south and west, it is surrounded by long, shallow sandy beaches while to the east stretch salt fields.
Nin is the first and oldest royal city in Croatia. Its old town is only 500 meters wide. It is home to exceptional architecture.
The city with an ancient past, 3,000 years old, is among the oldest cities on the eastern Adriatic coast. It was founded by the Liburnians in the 9th century BC. BC and served as a seaport and business center.

Plitvice National Park is 140 km from Zagreb and 219 km from Split. It consists of 16 lakes which are interconnected by waterfalls. These waterfalls were created by limestone from the water which was deposited between the lakes, forming a barrier of limestone rock called travertine.
Plitvice Lakes are protected as a national park and are part of the UNESCO World Heritage List.
It is without a doubt one of the most beautiful parks in Europe and perhaps the most beautiful park in Croatia.
The site is very touristy. Unfortunately, the weather is often unpredictable and that day, cold, rain and fog spoiled our visit.
Le parc national Plitvice se trouve à 140 km de Zagreb et 219 km de Split. Il se compose de 16 lacs qui sont reliés entre eux par des chutes d’eau. Ces chutes d’eau ont été créées par le calcaire de l’eau qui s’est déposé entre les lacs en formant une barrière de roche calcaire qu’on appelle le travertin.
Les lacs de Plitvice sont protégés en tant que parc national et font partie de la liste du patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO.
C’est sans aucun doute un des plus beaux parcs d’Europe et peut-être le plus beau parc de Croatie.
Le site est très touristique. Malheureusement, la météo est souvent capricieuse et ce jour là, froid, pluie et brouillard ont gâché notre visite.
