Here's the new building for high magnification studio photography. It has been tested already, my last 4 works were made with it.
Now the whole construction is more stable, I am able to shoot long exposures up to 1 second with zero vibration at 20x magnification. The weight including the camera is more than 12 kg. Main components are the base cut from black tombstone, the aluminum column is an extruded 50x50 mm square profile.
Also, I use a new bellows, the Canon Auto Bellows FD mount, with home-made adapters to Canon EF bayonet and M42 female thread on the lens side. This bellows is much stable than the Asahi Pentax used before, which will be a good friend yet in the field. The Canon allows me to rotate the camera 90° in every position.
Subject movement on a xy-axis microscope stage fixed on a fine focusing of an old Russian LOMO microscope (z-axis).
