Looking like a model train set town, the view of the Palouse from Steptoe Butte is like no other that I have seen. Bring your longest lens you own...or rent a 400mm lens like I did. Catching long afternoon shadows and aiming 90 degrees from the setting sun with a circular polarizing filter added some pop to the scene.
