A departure from my usual cityscape snaps, this time I found myself in seat 32A on a Ryanair flight between Porto and London. After enduring intense storms in Porto, the plane ascended high above the clouds. As they dispersed, a breathtaking blue planet unfolded below. It felt as though we were leaving Earth’s atmosphere behind, reaching a height where the curvature of our planet became visible far below. The scattered clouds resembled soft brush strokes on the canvas of the sky.

This weekend I finally went to Porto, a city I have been meaning to visit for years. I booked the trip about a month in advance and as it will turn out, this weekend had severe weather conditions with intense wind and showers. Honestly, it was quite the adventure! :D
On my Instagram i have shared some photos and videos of the extreme conditions which can potentially be partially deduced from the dramatic sky in this image.

I am hoping 2024 is the year I can catch up on some trips. Too many of these beautiful places have been on the todo list for way too long, and they are only a short flight away. Toledo was one of these. I flew out on Thursday evening, stayed the night in a beautiful apartment in Madrid not too far from Atocha station. The next morning I had Tostada con tomate y jamon y cafe con leche before i took my train to Toledo. It is only 36 minutes. My hotel in Toledo, Hotel Santa Isobel had a roof top terrace which was magical for relaxing while enjoying the beautiful city view. The evening I walked to the mirador where i spent a couple of hours waiting for the sun to set. The colours only lasted for a brief few moments, but it was enough. My camera snapped and the moment will last forever. <3

For several years now it has been a dream to visit these hugely popular Italian villages. In a part of Italy called Liguria, the 5 villages are: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. My hopes were to have a dramatic pink and purple sunset but instead we had thick rain clouds. It resulted in this mostly dramatic deep blue sea scape partially illuminated by the warm town lights.
