Managed to capture the Northern lights and Milky way over the Rumps in N. Cornwall last week after the phone apps went crazy and up in to the red! Wasn't expecting much after a failed previous attempt, where i assumed i was too far South to record anything. Seems that at this latitude the light display is often only visible through the camera! This was what i missed last time with my amateur attempt at astro, having only tried star trails.

I edited this 2 days ago but am on holiday and it would only upload on to Facebook after a day of trying! Fingers crossed this is visible..

Although I managed to capture a handful of useable images, I have struggled with the editing. I am away from home with such minimal equipment I still cant open the RAW files and have an internet connection from before the Dark Ages 😭😱😬

Hello Flickr friends this is a very recent ten seconds at dusk at Botallack mines, and was the final destination after a mad dash and spot of light chasing in West Cornwall while checking out a few new locations. The forecast said the wind would die down but that was not to happen, so i dug the feet in and sat with fingers crossed ;)

Birds and bow! Taken from the rocky platform below the iconic mine chimney stack at Cape Cornwall on a recent trip 'down West'. My shot of the old mine tower that stands on the summit, unfortunately (for me) had a family wander in to the shot while i was taking a panoramic stitch..😭

It's surprising what you can find trudging around a very wet and foggy Bodmin moor looking for compositions ;) This old farm was completely abandoned and spookily isolated up on the wild moortop!

I spent Sunday braving the N. Cornwall weather walking a section of the South West Coast Path was probably not one of my more sensible ideas given the timing with the arrival of Storm Isha! It was difficult cycling across the moor to get to the start of the path and although in the S.W we managed to avoid the worst of this storm, during the gusts i would have been blown over for sure had i not dropped to the ground! My heavy pack even though i weighted down with rocks while taking this image, was being lifted by the storm.. Most of the shots sadly were spoiled by movement and/ or spray. This is a quick edit of one of the few that didn't end up in the bin!
