Glittering Prize
Simple Minds

Shine On, Shine the Light on me,
In all of my Life so that much more I see
In the Light of his Love
In the Light of reflection
Oh what a world
Or sometimes oh so it seems
Eyes in the skies
In that silver gift friendship
A Glittering Prize
Is it the prize of lost loves
They can remember quiet sides of midnight
They can remember the attraction of fame
Like a Glittering Prize
I saw up on a clear day
First taking hearts
Then our last breath away

Just got back from a fantastic few days in Griffith NSW, with the family. Got to catch up with some great friends whilst there, and we had a blast!!
Headed out to Lake Wyangan on the Friday afternoon, after arriving, to scout out a comp fro the following morning. Sure enough, after checking with my compass, there were comps everywhere I looked, so I left a happy man.
The next morning, off I went at 6am, on what was a 15 min drive from our Motel.
Thought Id give myself around 15 mins before first light, to pick the correct comp, depending on how the cloud was looking, wind etc etc.
Found this comp, set up, and waited. 15 mins before sunrise, the sky was starting to get nice and red, but it was still quite dark.
5 mins before sunrise, still dark, and I'm beginning to scratch my head. At this stage, these trees should be getting some nice light on them from the rising sun to my left, but...nothing.
Out with the phone, good ol google, and onto my app for sunrise time.
6.55am...sunrise....SYDNEY!!!
DOH!!!
I type in Griffith NSW.....and Yay! (Not)
7.20am....sunrise Griffith
Paddy here forgot to calculate that I was now the best part of 6 hours inland from the horizon IN SYDNEY, and that sunrise here might just be a tad later....
Anyhow, the sun did eventually come up, and lit my trees and grasses, as I had planned, and I was happy out (eventually, after freezing my Irish Ass off for the best part of an hour waiting for it to happen).
A great spot, fantastic for bird watchers, better for Landscape Photographers.
Hope you like "Glittering Prize"
Cheers, Mike
