Looking across at Durdle Door, which is a natural limestone arch on the Jurassic Coast near Lulworth in Dorset, England. The name Durdle is derived from the Old English word 'thirl' meaning bore or drill. These were the worst conditions I have ever photographed in as the winds were gusting to over 90mph! Luckily they were coming off the sea toward the land or I would not be here today. With the wave and spray you may need to look carefully to actually see the large arch in the stone formation on the right. I was invited to this location by a couple of friends who are also keen photographers which was great as I would not have had the courage to do it alone. To get an idea of the size and scale of the waves, look at the size of the people on the cliff top at the left. After almost 30 minutes of being sandblasted, then a hail storm began so we packed up and started the large climb back to the car. Within minutes I was totally soaked!
