It's the end of Feb and that means it's going to be Milky Way season soon! From March until the first part of Oct we'll be able to photograph the galactic core of the Milky Way. But even during the winter months you capture parts of the Milky Way. Here's a shot we took in December up in Capitol Reef.

Technical details: Image captured with a Sony A7rIII with Tamron 15-30mm f2.8 lens. Constant low-level lighting was used to illuminate the rock feature. The sky was shot at 13sec, f/2.8, ISO 10,000. For better detail retention, the foreground was shot at 7min, f/2.8, ISO 640. Photoshop was used to select the sky independently from the landscape. We teach these types of techniques and much more in our night photography workshops! Learn more at www.ActionPhotoTours.com.

On a side note, we got a Commercial Use Authorization for Capitol Reef this year, so we'll be available for private outings and workshops! Stay tuned for more workshop announcements up in this area.
