This is a postcard addressed on the other side to Russell Kroncke, Poynette, Wis., R.F.D. no. 2, c/o H. J. Kronicke.

Handwritten message: "Dear Russell, how do you like this poodle? When are you coming to Poynette? I will send you a nicer one. Your Aunt Annie."

There's no stamp, postmark, or date on this copy of the postcard, but the Justice Poodle appeared on a real photo postcard as early as 1907. This printed version has a divided back and likely dates to the 1910s.

Feldunterarzt Theodor Dobler in the trenches, probably 1915.

Theodor Dobler (1893-1973) was a German physician who has not been forgotten to this day. He is mainly known for organizing, together with others, the surrender of the university town of Tübingen (my home town, by the way) to the French army without a fight in 1945. In gratitude, the city of Tübingen named a street after him in the same year, the Doblerstraße.

The soldiers on the left picture are hunting for lice.

The photo on the right comes with a bad scatological poem that I won't try to translate. It jokingly says that all Landsturmmänner should support Polish agriculture by producing manure.
