The (or should I say THE, because this statue is the one you think of when you think of statues to Kim Il-sung) statue stands in an open plaza. Behind is a large mural depicting Mount Paektu, a holy mountain to the Korean people which strides the border with China in the north. (Kim Jong-il was, according to the North Korean authorities, born on Mount Paektu. Current Western scholarship places his birth in the USSR)
Hopefully the people give this statue some kind of scale.
