Για το 15ήμερο μέχρι να φτάσουμε συν Θεώ στο “Πάσχα του καλοκαιριού“ και να εορτάσουμε την κοίμηση της Υπεραγίας Θεοτόκου, ετοίμασα ένα αφιέρωμα με τίτλο “Παναγίες της Ελλάδος“ Ιερούς Ναούς,ξωκλήσια και Ιερές Μονές όπου τιμάται η Θεομήτωρ με τα προσωνύμια και τις παραδόσεις που κρύβονται πίσω από αυτά.

Πρωτάτο
Πρωτάτο ονομάζεται ο καθεδρικός ναός ο οποίος κοσμεί τις Καρυές ,το διοικητικό κέντρο του Αγίου όρους.
Ονομάστηκε έτσι διότι αποτελεί την έδρα του Πρωτεπιστάτη (Πρώτου). O ναός αφιερωμένος στην Κοίμηση της Θεοτόκου, είναι ο αρχαιότερος όλων των καθολικών(Ιερών Ναών) του Αγίου Όρους. Η ανέγερση του ναού στην αρχική του μορφή έγινε το 962, ένα έτος πριν από τη θεμελίωση του πρώτου καθολικού της Μεγίστης Λαύρας. Μαρτυρίες αναφέρουν πως στη θέση του υπήρχε μικρότερος ναός ο οποίος ανοικοδομήθηκε με φροντίδα του μαγίστρου Λέοντος, αδερφού του Νικηφόρου Φωκά ο οποίος και τον κόσμησε με πολλά κειμήλια.΄
Η σημερινή του μορφή είναι αποτέλεσμα διαδοχικών επεμβάσεων και ανακαινίσεων, με σπουδαιότερη αυτήν του Οσίου Αθανασίου του Αθωνίτη (πριν τα μέσα του 10ου αιώνα). Τυπολογικά ανήκει στον τύπο της τρίκλιτης βασιλικής άνευ τρούλλου με εγκάρσιο υπερυψωμένο κλίτος, διαμορφώνοντας με αυτόν τον τρόπο τους "χορούς"ενώ στην ανατολική πλευρά σχηματίζει τρεις ημικυκλικές αψίδες. Τον 19ο αιώνα προστέθηκαν δύο ανοικτοί νάρθηκες, ο ένας στην βόρεια και ο άλλος στην δυτική πλευρά, καθώς και το υπερυψωμένο κωδονοστάσιο βορειοανατολικώς του ναού.
Μεταξύ πολλών σπουδαιοτάτων ιερών κειμηλίων,μέγιστος πνευματικός θησαυρός θεωρείται η εικόνα του «Άξιον εστι».
Protato(First of all)
Protato is called the cathedral, which adorns Karyes, the administrative center of Mount Athos.
It was named because it is the headquarters of the supervisor (First). The temple dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin is the most precious of all the Catholics (Holy Temples) of Mount Athos. The erection of the temple in its original form took place in 962, one year before the founding of the first Catholic of the Great Lavra. Testimonies indicate that there was a smaller temple in its place, which was rebuilt with the care of the magician Leo, brother of Nikephoros Phokas, who decorated it with many heirlooms.
Its present form is the result of successive interventions and renovations, with the greatest of Osios Athanasios of Athonite (before the middle of the 10th century). Typologically it belongs to the type of three-aisled basilica without a dome with a transversal elevated aisle, thus forming "dances" while on the eastern side it forms three semicircular arches. In the 19th century, two open castles were added, one on the north and the other on the west side, as well as the raised northeast portico of the temple.
Among the many important heirlooms, the greatest spiritual treasure is the image of "Axion esti".
