Saturday, we're on a boat, me and my two friends who own the boat and the model...and the model is just an all-around grand lady, her movements were so fluid, so effortless, she understood the way the camera sees her so well.
She was talking about spending some months in NY, maybe some time in the midwest, maybe go back to Australia for a bit, maybe Fiji...she's young, she's got time and energy and curiosity, and it occurred to me that my window with her might be real short.
Bit sad about that, but also, knowing it ahead of time, understanding that folks come in and out of our lives, lessened the blow. Okay, only have so much time with her, let's make it count.
Sophoulla...we did several sessions while she was in the states, no one can say I didn't take advantage of her stay...but if I'd known about the pandemic and everything after, I would've photographed her EVEN MORE.
True for a list of models as long as my arm. For the Artist, there is never enough.
