The Netherlands.
Near Bakkum-Noord, where the older inner dunes meet the polder and the bulbs flourish and flower.
Session with Ramon (Kappix), close to sunset.
Image made with kite and camera.

The Netherlands - Bakkum-Noord
This field with faded giant onion (reuzenui - Allium giganteum) inspired me. It is an Asian species of onion, native to central and southwestern Asia, but cultivated in many countries as a flowering garden plant. It is the tallest ornamental Allium, in common cultivation, growing to 1.5 metres (4.9 ft).
Image was made with kite and camera, attached to the kite's line. © Tom Kisjes

The Netherlands-Uitgeest
Wiggly, "sloppy" ditches in the man-made, and mostly straight build Province North-Holland are often remnants of ancient times. As is the case with this ditch along the border of Uitgeest. "De Dije" used to be a creek of the "Oer-IJ", a former branch of the "Upper-Rhine", that once discharged in the North Sea, on the spot where the village Castricum is situated.
Image made with kite and camera, (attached to the kite's line).

The Netherlands - Castricum
View on the "Schulpvaart", a natural ditch and relic from the time (3.000 BC) that the "Oer-IJ" estuary was situated here. Later on -untill the 20th century- the "Schulpvaart" was an important waterway for the carrying trade between the villages Castricum, Limmen (in background image) and Akersloot. Lots of shells (schulp/schelp in Dutch) were transported to the lime kilns near lake Alkmaar.
