In 1730 a simultaneous eruption of 30 craters affected one third of the island, burying villages and covering much of the most fertile land with a 33 feet thick layer of lava. The eruptions and the devastation were to last for 6 years.
The name of this vulcano is unknown to me. I approached and climbed it with the kite and camera above me.

Inlet system for seawater and evaporation leads to a real island product; sea salt from Lanzarote.
Results of a second walk through this area in the late afternoon with the Levi light kite and the Canon S90 up there.

Along the border of the Timanfaya National Park. In 1730 a simultaneous eruption of 30 craters affected one third of the island, burying villages and covering much of the most fertile land with a 33 feet thick layer of lava. The eruptions and the devastation were to last for 6 years. In the background caldera Pedro Perico. Sparse vegetation on the older lava, almost no vegetation on the fresh (= 300 years old) lava on the left that we nicknamed bakelava/baklava. Bft 5, PFK.
