In 1730 a simultaneous eruption of 30 craters affected one third of the island, burying villages and covering much of the most fertile land with a 33 feet thick layer of lava. The eruptions and the devastation were to last for 6 years.
The name of this vulcano is unknown to me. I approached and climbed it with the kite and camera above me. Most of the lava came out of the holes on the right side; the crater itself produced mainly ashes and gasses.
