View on "De Putten", a small bird sanctuary and part of the Harger- en Pettemerpolder. This polder lies just behind a North Sea dyke and the recently build artificial dunes and beach. It offers a mostly brackish environment, because of a salty history and seepage. The little islands in the lake are made of shell grit and provide a spot to rest, to breed or to meditate.
