The Netherlands-Krommeniedijk
Image of a 19/20th century fortress near Krommeniedijk and part of a defense line around Amsterdam. There are still more than 50 of these fortresses situated around our capital.
In february/march meadows around the fortress are inundated by Landschap Noord-Holland in favor of migrating and breeding birds. The image -made with kite and camera- shows them frozen solid, however, due to a short cold period.
In the background Uitgeesterbroek polder with the lakes Vroon (Vroonmeer) and Weijenbus are visible, as well as the village Uitgeest. © Tom Kisjes
