Den Helder Grafelijkheidsduinen.
View on the northernmost dunes of the Dutch mainland, an area called "Grafelijkheidsduinen". And a spot where a dyke takes over the protection of the land against the sea.
The Grafelijkheidsduinen were once part of the Wadden-isle "Huisduinen" and are named after the former owners, the Counts of Egmont.
These dunes are mainly of botanical interest and are managed by "Landschap Noord-Holland". Far away the Wadden isle "Texel" can be seen.
Image made with kite and camera.
