The striking and colourful architecture around Manchester can make for some interesting shots - especially some of the new-builds in the Oxford Road / Deansgate area.
In this shot, Northern unit 150123 approaches Deansgate station with the 2.31pm Manchester Piccadilly - Blackpool North (2N68) while, in the distance, East Midlands Train unit 158799 is just about to draw into Manchester's Oxford Road station with the 1.52pm Liverpool Lime Street - Norwich (1L12).
Happy to report both trains were pretty well running to time on this very congested stretch of track.
