Aufgenommen im Kloster Likir in Ladakh (Indien). Das Kloster ist gut 50 km von der Hauptstadt Ladakhs, Leh, entfernt. Das Kloster gehört mit seinen 900 Jahren zu den ältesten des Landes. Die Maitreya-Statue steht vor dem Kloster und ist -laut Wikipedia 23 Meter hoch, allerdings einschließlich einem Podest.
Im Kloster war eine wundervolle Atmosphäre.
Ich bin kein sehr gläubiger Mensch, aber der Himmel war dunkelblau, die Sonne hat einen wunderschönen Glanz auf die Statue gezaubert. Gerade so als wolle mir jemand genau diesen Moment präsentieren.

Photographed besides the monastery of Likir in Ladakh (India). Maitreya-Statue.
The monastery is 50 km from the town of Leh in the Ladakh region of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. With its over 900 years old history the monastery belongs to the oldest monasteries Ladakhs. The visitors are received from an enormous Maitreya statue besides the monastery. Sitting on the roof is a 23 metre (75 ft) high gilded gold statue of Maitreya (the future) Buddha. It was completed in 1999. In the picture you see the sky in the background, yes, the sky was this day deeply blue, nearly to black. I am not really religious, but its a wonderful atmosphere there.
