The lentoid scaraboid, to left, bears a hieroglyphic inscription of the throne name of Psammetichus/Psamtik I (664-610 BCE), "Wah-ib-re." The reverse is uninscribed.

The scarab, on the right, bears an abbreviated inscription naming a Psammetichus, likely either Psamtik I or his successor.

Both produced at Naukratis.

Tomb 8 (6th c. BCE), Necropolis of Via Madonna delle Grazie, Zullo property, Castellammare di Stabia.
The necropolis, numbering ca. 300 tombs and in use from the 7th to the 3rd century BCE, belongs to an unknown settlement in the territory of ancient Stabiae, possibly its predecessor settlement.

Photographed on display in the exhibition "Il Nilo a Pompeii: visioni d'Egitto nel mondo romano" (The Nile at Pompeii: visions of Egypt in the Roman world) at the Museo Egizio in Torino, Piemonte, Italy, March 5 to September 4 (extended to October 2), 2016.
