Oak barrel staves and head with central bunghole. One of the staves is inscribed IANVARIVS (Januarius).
Found in a trash pit at the Roman fort at Bar Hill, Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire, Scotland (see Bar Hill on Pleiades).
Dated to the Antonine period, 142-180 CE.

The deceased reclines with cup in hand and a dog behind.
Found reused in a house on Shirva Farm, Kirkintilloch, Scotland (see Kirkintilloch on Pleiades, which, however, marks the spot of a Roman fort). Suggested to have been originally erected in a cemetery at Auchendavy or Bar Hill.
Dated to the Antonine period, ca. 142-180 CE.
