Cretan Late Geometric-Early Archaic period, ca. 730-680 BCE
Found in the Idaean Cave (see on Pleiades)

The relief decoration is interpreted as representing the myth of Zeus and the Kouretes (Curetes, Korybantes), and reflects stylistic trends of contemporary Assyrian artistic production; it may have been produced locally or imported.

In the collection of, and photographed on display in, the Archaeological Museum of Herakleion, Iraklio, Crete, Greece
