Photographing the sunset from the Jose Rizal bridge in Seattle, Oct 5, 2012. The photograph that most people take from this viewpoint is off the bridge railing, towards downtown, composing the image such that nothing of the bridge itself is visible. I decided I was tired of that somewhat cliched shot, and shot downtown and the bridge itself. I had to try a number of times before I was happy with the light trails of passing cars, and I was also careful to include the turn only lane markings on the road. I believe that this grittier version of the sunset is a more interesting perspective than the clean and pristine classic view of downtown, it connects me far more to a sense of location of being in that somewhat sketchy part of Seattle.
