Le violent incendie du 15 avril 2019 détruit la flèche et la totalité de la toiture couvrant la nef, le chœur et le transept. Il s'agit du plus important sinistre subi par la cathédrale depuis sa construction. Dès lors, Notre-Dame a été fermée au public. La reconstruction à l'identique des parties détruites ou gravement endommagées est décidée en 2020. La réouverture de Notre-Dame au public est prévue le 8 décembre 2024. (Wikipédia)
The violent fire of April 15, 2019 destroyed the spire and the entire roof covering the nave, the choir and the transept. This is the most significant disaster suffered by the cathedral since its construction. From then on, Notre-Dame was closed to the public. The identical reconstruction of the destroyed or seriously damaged parts is decided in 2020. The reopening of Notre-Dame to the public is planned for December 8, 2024.
