First of all, I wish you all a happy new year.
I spent the turn of the year near Rostock on the German Baltic Sea coast. Of course also with a camera.
A classic there is the picture of the two lighthouses at the harbor entrance to Warnemünde.
Here is my version of it.
This consists of three individual shots, all with the same setting and post-processing.
Why? In order to be able to put them on top of each other at the end and use masks to remove the tourists around the lighthouse.

On my tour of Alaska I made a stop in Valdez. There, at the salmon breeding station, the water is teeming with salmon. Of course the sea lions know this too.
I took the picture there with a small telephoto (70-300 APSC). Distance to the animals less than 10 meters.
Incredibly interesting to watch what goes on in the water. You don't even notice how quickly time flies.

After our last night in our truck camper, which we spent in the Cabelas parking lot in Anchorage , we were just getting the truck ready to leave when the sun pushed through the clouds in the rainy sky.
I immediately dropped everything, grabbed my Nikon and the rental lens, climbed into the alcove, stuck my head through the roof hatch and took this picture. What a morning mood.

During my Alaska trip I spend two nights in Seward. We used a good two hours to watch and photograph the aurora spectacle. Then it was time to go into our truck camper, but then the northern lights increased dramatically in intensity. It became brighter and brighter and the green became more and more intense, even to the naked eye. It began to dance and light tones of red joined the green. That was the moment when there were no words left. After a few minutes it was over again.
But it was a moment that we will probably never forget.

The present picture shows the breathtaking illuminated Sellin pier on the beautiful island of Rügen during the blue hour. The pier stretches majestically across the sea and is a popular local landmark. Dark rain clouds are piling up in the background of the picture, conveying a certain drama and tension.
Four shots were taken for the picture and then combined as HDR in Lightroom.
