Evans went to his prom with someone who proceeded to ditch him in order to get together with her ex after having danced with him all-night at the event. At the time, he was heart-broken. Since that time, Evans has had a number of relationship. Some of which have been successful, while others have been less so.

From time to time, Evans has had second thoughts about whether he wants to continue acting in movies. For example, he has stated a desire in the not so distant past to focus more on directing movies rather than acting in them, which bore results when he made his directorial debut with Before We Go in 2014 at the Toronto International Film Festival. Curiously, Evans does not actually have a high opinion of the movies that he has performed in, so much so that he has stated at one point in the past that he was proud of no more than 3 out of the numerous movies that he has performed in. Like some of the other actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, Evans has dressed up as the character that he plays from time to time for the sake of charitable causes. In his case, he has been photographed in his costume as Captain America while visiting sick children at Seattle Children’s Hospital. This is particularly interesting because Evans has stated in the past that he is uncomfortable at promotional events while wearing such costumes, thus making it all the more admirable.

Since taking on the role of Captain America, Evans has picked up a second nickname because of his fans, who call him “Dorito.” This is because the Captain America suit made his upper body look like the eponymous snack, which was noticed when someone pointed out that the proportions of his shoulders to his waist resulted in an excellent match for the chip when it has its point down. From a single observation, the nickname soon spread throughout the Internet, with the result that it is now stuck.
