The Black-necked stilt is one of the first bird I have ever photographed. It is easy to understand how I got hooked, such an elegant and attractive bird. This is not a resident or even a regular visitor of Vancouver Island. However, about five years ago, when I was just starting being interested in photography, four Black-necked stilt were found at Maber Flats and nested there. I believe this was the first and only record of black-necked stilt nesting on Vancouver Island.
