The surreal landscape of Dead Vlei, hidden amongst the towering dunes in the Namib desert. Around 900 years ago the shifting dunes cut this clay pan off from the Tsauchab river and starved of moisture the trees died in the searing desert heat. It really is like stepping into a Dali painting, all it needs is some melting clocks!
