Viene costruita nel Cinquecento e adibita a villa di campagna e successivamente dimora di rappresentanza nobiliare; nel XVIII secolo viene poi aggiunto un imponente giardino all'italiana con scale, fontane, giochi d'acqua e un'edicola affrescata. Intorno alla villa esistono interessanti rustici, come ad esempio un monumentale torchio contenente un ciclo di affreschi rococò dipinti nella bottega del pittore (di Varese ma originario di Vacallo in linea materna) Pietro Antonio Magatti.

In 1500, Giraldino della Porta purchased a huge estate and built a villa on it whose remains can
still be seen. Gianangelo III della Porta converted this between the late 17th and early 18th-century. Unlike the architectural canons of the time that dictated a garden in line with the main rooms, he built a new entrance avenue to connect the main parterre with the flowerbeds, the four terraces linked by a large staircase, and the vast slope called “the theatre” that ended in a fountain. A long avenue of cypresses leads up to the hilltop. In the following years great care was dedicated to the house and it was adorned with quality Rococo details. The Della Porta Bozzolo heirs reached an agreement with the FAI (Italian National Trust Fund), which have restored and transformed the house into a cultural place worth visiting.
