Blue Cypress Lake, FL

I mentioned yesterday that I got up at 2:00 am, a time most people probably go to bed or are still out partying, and here is the reason why.

Michael AKA JMW Nature's Images asked me last week if Ivan and I would like to join him on Sunday for a boat tour out on Blue Cypress Lake. I already wanted to go last year, but plans fell through. So of course we said yes.

Got up at 2:00 to leave just before 3:00. We must have been flying rather than driving, because we would have been an hour early if we wouldn't have decided to stop at McD's for breakfast. By 6:00 am we were on Michael boat on our way out onto the lake to look for these beautiful cypress trees and osprey.

He sure knows the lake and got us to all the right places, not such an easy thing, if you consider that the lake is huge. By huge I mean it's over 6,500 acres in size, 21 mi in circumference. I'd have been lost. So, thank you Michael for taking us out there and spending the morning into noon with us.
