The Oeiras Marina is a complex made up of an oceanic swimming pool, a yacht and sail boat harbour and a seaside walkway. This is where the river Tagus becomes the Atlantic Ocean and I never get tired of this place.
Kayaking is just one of the many water-related activities constantly going on around the marina.

The Oeiras Marina is a complex made up of an oceanic swimming pool, a yacht and sail boat harbour and a seaside walkway. This is where the river Tagus becomes the Atlantic Ocean and I never get tired of this place. In the background, you can see the 25 de Abril Bridge, which connects the margins of the River Tagus.

The Oeiras Marina is one of my favourite places to use my wide-angle lens and I feel like I should warn you that I really like the distortion effect of these lenses. I sometimes correct it, but I mostly find that it works for me. So, there :)

A Oeiras Marina (zona de Oeiras que inclui o Porto de Recreio, a Piscina Oceânica e o Passeio Marítimo) é um dos meus sítios preferidos para usar a minha objectiva grande-angular e aviso já que gosto particularmente do efeito de distorção que estas objectivas produzem. Por vezes, corrijo esse efeito mas, na maioria dos casos, até acho que a distorção funciona bem. Pronto :)

There are a few of these convex mirrors along the seaside walkway in Oeiras. They can be quite helpful to avoid spectacular collisions between pedestrians and skaters, bikers or those fast runners that go by at full speed, leaving behind those of us that are mere power walkers :)
This one got somehow tilted the wrong way for its intended effect, but perfect to get a glimpse of the beach :)
Existem alguns destes espelhos convexos ao longo do Passeio Marítimo de Oeiras. São bastante úteis para evitar colisões espetaculares entre pedestres e skaters, patinadores, ciclistas ou aqueles corredores rápidos que passam a toda a velocidade, deixando para trás aqueles de nós que são meros praticantes de power walking :)
Por algum motivo, este levou um toque e ficou inclinado no ângulo errado para desempenhar a sua função, mas ficou perfeito para se dar uma espreitadela à praia :)

Way, way in the background, along the horizon and with a regatta going by, there's a tiny speck that's none other than my favourite lighthouses: the Bugio.
