Yes, I have a cat on Prozac. He has lost his mind having a 3rd cat in the household and began random sneak attacks on poor Rascal, to instigate fights. The fights never got out of control … they were skippity-bap slap fights and lots of theatrical noise. (They were, however making Rascal a bit nervous to walk thru the house.). Then when I would yell for them to stop it, and tell Rebel to leave Rascal alone, the little bugger would leave a pea spot on my bed. I was waaaaaaay less than happy about this and began covering my bed like I lived in a gypsy camp, and doing lots of Natures Miracle laundry. The vet determined that Rebel is an over anxious cat and should be used to Rascal’s presence since it had been 10 months. She recommended Prozac to take it down another notch, since I had been using pheromone diffusers that had been doing a decent job, until they weren’t!Pleased to say things have been much better, other than finding and catching Rebel when he least suspects to get the transdermal medicine in his ear!He fell asleep here after one of his doses last week!

We are having another deluge kind of day here on the island with flood watches up for 12 South and low lying areas along the sound. I suppose it is mostly just an inconvenience for most folks here as it usually cuts off Hatteras from the northern beach towns.
I do wonder how they deal with medical emergencies when this happens, because our only local hospital is a stones throw from my house. It is tiny...I think a whopping 26 beds! Mostly what you would call a triage hospital until you dan be stabilized and moved if you need critical care. I wonder if they have to use a helicopter if it is a severe emergency, when 12 South is impassable with over wash from the sound and the ocean...perhaps, they just go straight to Greenville in that case.
Storms are expected through dinner time when I have to head back to Manteo to dog sit overnight. Not an outdoor, sunset kind of day!

Italy's Amalfi Coast...A Christmas gift from my daughter, was a HUGE surprise! She gave us tickets to Rome, Italy with a side trip to the Amalfi Coast and to Pompeii ( THAT was a bucket list item for me!). I have a thing for REALLY old history...and ruins, archeological digs and decrepitude! This was my favorite trip outside the USA, tied with Egypt!
We stayed the weekend on the coast and visited Pompeii toward the end of the trip before heading back to Rome to fly home. While here I was able to search for sea glass (I have a collection) and was surprised to find that they have more sea tile and sea pottery than glass. I managed to bring home so much to use in my art work! The locals were watching us on the beach like 2 crazy women acting like we had found gold! I had my entire little backpack crammed full of sea tile, and we pictured the people saying "Why are they cleaning up the beach and taking that trash!!!??" This is one of the places I would like to return to...I need more time in Pompeii and the ruins in Italy, I have two more bucket list places ...I want to see the countries of my heritage, Poland and Ireland. I have bucket list places here in the US as well so I truly need to live a while yet!

Winter surfing is not for the faint of heart, the Atlantic can be crazy, and brutally cold in February, yet as soon as she begins to blow with the winds, the Wild Ones are drawn to the water like moths to a flame. Decked out in winter wetsuits with just a face opening, they eagerly head into the churning surf in hopes of catching some incredible rides on the swells. It seems it is a powerful addiction, riding these rolling tubes of water, as often there are dozens of the Wild Ones out there… word seems to spread fast that the swells are rolling in off the storms at sea, and it is time to go try to catch some perfect rides in to shore.

She has always wanted to hold Rufus, Rebel or Rascal. Rebel is an over anxious cat, so much so he is on Prozac…so that was just not going to happen, Rascal was found living with a Feral colony and it has taken him going on a year now to get comfortable living indoors and learning not to fear people and strange noises. Kids just move too fast for both of them. Rufus, on the other hand loves people, other animals, and strangers. . He is very much like a dog, greeting people at the door. The only issue with him is he is a BIG cat….a sturdy, big boned cat. It’s the breed traits! She asked if she could hold him and I told her she could try but he is heavy…she walked down the hall to the bedrooms to find him and came back with him like THIS! He was not at all upset… and posed with her for a couple of shots. It made her day!
