Ever since I first saw these sculptures at the De Young Museum in San Francisco, I've been trying to capture them. However, my cameras and I were never quite up to the task. You can't use any kind of flash as you'll lose the shadows. Finally, with the 40D I managed. She's a wonderful artist - check her out: Ruth Asawa.

Just came back from the Chihuly exhibit at The De Young Museum and couldn't wait to share this with you. Amazingly beautiful display.

This absolute has to be Viewed Large On Black - It'll be my background for an extended period, that's for sure. From the Chihuly Exhibit at the De Young Museum in San Francisco.

Just couldn't NOT put this one on. I didn't get the shot I really wanted (too many people in the way to move back and they had restricted access for me to move further to the right). Also, I didn't bring my wide angle which would've been perfect. (A lot of apologies for a shot that I'm quite happy with in the first place, LOL). (Oh, and I screwed up on the f-stop as well - it's all a learning experience).

Apologize for not doing a lot of visiting lately - visitors, trips, etc. have kind of put a damper on my flickr time. Tomorrow should be a fun day as I'll be joining a whole lot of other photo enthusiasts in Scott Kelby's World Wide Photo Walk in San Francisco.
