Kelso Ridge July 2006 - As a warm down after my Mt Meeker adventure I headed up to Torreys with Dan on the 4th of July. We parked at the I-70 Bakerville exit and used our mountain bikes to get from there to the trailhead. We took Kelso Ridge to the summit. I had used this ridge as a descent route after climbing Dead Dog Couloir, but I had never ascended it before. It's a fun, easy scramble.
The biking made it a nice morning excursion:
~5000 ft. elevation gain
~6.5 hours

The snow coulior that angles up to the ridge and reaches just below and to the right of the summit is called Dead Dog Coulior. That's the only other route I've taken to the top of this peak. It's melted out at the bottom on this day and was in pretty poor condition.
