Eighth ski day 2005-2006 (Meadow Mtn.) - My first ski day at Meadow Mountain. Rom was in charge of this CHAOS trip. There were only two others: Ben and Ben. The snow was decent.
We met up at the Justice Center. I loaded our Burley-type trailer with all my gear for the short ride over there. The trailer actually worked quite well with the skis and other gear.
In the parking lot I ran into David and Julie with their two kids Erica and Eli. They were waiting for a couple friends and then headed up to Eldora.
Skinning up Meadow Mtn. I ran into Jon. Since he's been to Sayulita to surf each of the last 3 years, I quizzed him a bit about surf breaks and crowds there. It seemed incongruous to be standing on a snow-covered slope discussing surf breaks at a place that Julie and I will visit in a couple weeks.
To get to Meadow Mtn. go to Allenspark upper entrance from the Peak-to-Peak. At the first intersection (where you'd go right (north) to Pear Lake) turn left and immediately right (west) on a road that says "Ski run" or something like that. Continue on that road until too much snow over the road forces you to park. We parked just a short distance (~200 yards) before the summer parking lot.
