A friend of mine is away for the summer studying to be a farrier. I decided to create a photo for her. I borrowed my dad's anvil for this photo shoot.
I shot this with my Cambo on Arista Ultra.EDU 100 ISO 4x5 sheet film. Developed in a unicolor drum for 7.5 mins with D76 1+1 at 68 degrees.
The lighting was done with an Alien Bee B800 in a gridded 150cm octobox directly over the Anvil with it angled slighted toward the camera to reduce the spill onto the backdrop. There was also a reflector in the floor between camera and anvil to provide a slight fill. The strobe was triggered with a sync cable.
This was scanned on an Epson V500 and stitched in Photoshop. I plan to make a 16x20 silver print in my darkroom as soon as I have enough time to spend doing it right. It takes me a while to get what I want in the darkroom. I wish I had more free time to practice.

I used a DIY cardboard lens board to mount the 127mm lens from my friends Speed Graphic to my new Cambo SCII.
I used my Alien Bee at full power in a softbox (above and left of camera) and could only get the F-stop up to F16. So I opened up to F32 and popped the strobe 3-times while I held the shutter open in Bulb. I also had a white foam core board as a reflector on camera right.
AristaEDU Ultra 100 4x5 in Diafine. 1 minute presoak, then 5+4.
Edit: This didn't look quite this contrasty before I uploaded to Flickr. This is a two-part scan from my Epson V500. I'll try and get a wet print soon and see if it will scan better.

I either missed the focus on this one, or the lens is just too soft wide open. Actually I suspect both, but I wanted to see what it would do wide open.
Doh, I just realized that I scanned this negative upside down. And I replaced it with a flopped version to correct it.

My son helping me with a few test shots so I can test this film developer combo.
This is a crop from a partial scan, I didn't bother stitching it into a complete frame.
