I wanted to dabble in some seascapes on this trip. I went out this morning to the lava fields and tried various settings and grabbed a few frames that I was content with. This being one. Taken at 1/10 sec. ISO 64.

Took a quick side trip and got news of some Short Eared Owls. It has been awhile since I've photographed one so I made a bullet trek to the location. I was not disappointed as we got close shots just before sunrise. WAs wanting to get a little closer for portraits but a large truck flushed this tame individual far into the fields.....still have lots of Hawaii shots to work on , but will mix it in with some close Merlin captures on this 2 day outing..
