This Bald Eagle was enjoying a good helping of venison just outside the Whiteshell Provincial Park...
He was quite distracted with the meal at hand, that I was able to get quite close before he eventually flew off...

This young Great Gray Owl was perched on a fence post when I first spotted him... after a few minutes he flew across the road to another fence post... only to fly back to this post where he sat for a few minutes before heading into the woods...
Gotta love those claws...

May 2015 - This Killdeer was keeping watch over her youngsters who were wandering not far off on this dirt field.

You can find Killdeer on open ground with low vegetation (or no vegetation at all), including lawns, golf courses, driveways, parking lots, and gravel-covered roofs, as well as pastures, fields, sandbars and mudflats. This species is one of the least water-associated of all shorebirds (Cornell Lab of Ornithology).

While driving thru Pinawa I came across this big buck that was on a rock pile on one side of the road... he was watching a small group of does on the other side... after I took a few snaps he decided i was not threat and started heading straight towards me and then on across the road to the does who then proceeded into the woods...
