I was so blown away by the inversion this morning. I awoke early this morning to find thick cloud in the dark skies above. I decided, despite the lack of much fog forecast here to venture up to Chagford. As I arrived the cloud sank suddenly around me. The mist rolling over Natterdon Common was absolutely amazing!

A very early start from home and a 30 mins walk was definitely worth it
the other day. The high cloud lit up scarlet and then gave some awesome
red light as it rose over the distant horizonal high cloud. Fab! shared with pixbuf.com

A last minute decision to visit Brent Tor the other evening paid off. I've not been since 2013 so the second visit was a lucky one as the sun droped into a sall gap at sunset. The sidelight was an amazing red/bronze.

This was a lovely view towards, the still shrouded, Castle Drogo the
other morning as the fog from the inversion enveloped Manaton. The
layering was nice as the fist light of day clipped the top of
Smallacombe Rocks in the foreground. shared with pixbuf.com

I visited these great twin hawthorns at Coombestone Tor a few times recently. It's a composition I have captured in the summer before but I wondered what it would be like in the autumn. The leaves were a lovely bronze and gold colour and there was a tiny glimmer of light one evening, just before sun set. I'm glad I did now Storm Callum has hit.
