A new wee nest in anticipation of spring.

Made by me with salvaged twine, scrap threads, small pieces of yarn and polymer clay egg beads. Hand sewing and a little bit of sewing by machine. Just a few inches across.

I'm continuing the berries series with my bittersweet nightshade art quilt.

Bittersweet nightshade is related to deadly nightshade, but it is also related to peppers, tomatoes and potatoes. Solanaceae.

The new addition to my berries series is the yellow mountain ash. I've used the techniques of free-motion collage quilting, applique and hand embroidery to make this piece.

I'm pleased with the colour combination in the background as it progresses from cool up to warm with the light in the middle.
