So this is the mama Canada goose nesting on top of my barn. I spent Earth Day yesterday after going to a doctor's appt on gosling jump watch.

Papa has been hanging around very close by and watching but not bothered by me.

So far I have seen she has 4 goslings but there could be more. I just can't tell for sure yet. Only 3 are visible here.

I know that the goslings are ready to leave the nest within a day or two after hatching so if they hatched when I think they did, (early yesterday) then it shouldn't be long before they make their jump off the barn roof.

I am really hoping to get lucky enough to capture it this time. Last year it happened while I was gone and I was so bummed.

Maybe I'll get lucky this time. Keep fingers crossed for me.

The 2 on the left of the frame banged into each other. When these Band-tailed Pigeons show up, it is chaos at the feeder for a bit. Then they disappear and it's again quiet for a while.

My goofy Cav pic of yesterday I ended up taking down. In six hours it had all of 58 views.

I wrote Flickr about it but of course never have received a response.

My pro account just renewed and the price is way up and I wonder, what's the point in posting if no one sees my posts and if the support staff doesn't respond.

Anyway, we'll see how it goes today.

I'll catch up with all of you later today. Lots of work to do and get done outside today and have to get to it while the energy level is high.

This mom and her 2 cubs had just finished up eating a big female sockeye that was brimming with eggs and this cub was actually licking the last of the eggs off mom's leg as she was beginning to walk away. Cracked me up.
