10,000ft+ on top of the South Sister summit. It was peaceful and quiet. My friends were asleep in the camp and had the old volcano summit to myself. This shot is my favorite night shot I've ever taken.

This night is the only time I've seen lenticulars at night.

The glow from Portland and the town below provided the illumination on the cloud.

I almost didn't go out shooting this night. ...so glad I did!

This is Lost Lake in Oregon. Glow on the right is from Portland. Mountain in the center is Mt Hood.

Woo-hoo! This shot was taken over the weekend during my first star shooting workshop.

I had everything all planned out and ready to go, then around noon while watching the news, I found out a wildfire was blanketing smoke in the area I wanted to take my class to. I scrambled for new locations and decided on this one. On our way out, we drove through some heavy smoke that really had me nervous about the outcome of the night.

Fortunately, the winds changed and we enjoyed a night of crystal clear stars. It was perfect. Even the temperature was almost warm. Perfect night.

Everyone seemed to have a good time and picked up on the concepts and techniques very quickly. I enjoyed the teaching and I really enjoyed the like-minded company.

Good times, good people, beautiful everning, great pictures :-)

I'm not sure I'll do another workshop this year before the weather comes in, but I'll certainly be lining up classes for next summer. Message me if you are interested.
