Another of the stained glass windows. This one is plainer and probably contains the coat of arms of the church or locality.

The stonework of this window is the orginal 13th century stonework.

The Chancel Arch (c1200) is the oldest part of the church. The pews are oak and date from 1890.
I particularly like the candle rods that are laid out in the pews.

The side altar (RHS) is of walnut. It at one time served as the high altar and has the date 1709 carved on the front.

On the north wall of the chancel (RHS of the arch) are two memorials in alabaster to members of the Lewis family of Penmark Place. They were great benefactors and their gift of a remarkable chalice and flagon are on loan to the National Museum of Wales.

The side alter is of walnut.

At one time it apparently served as the high alter and has the date 1709 carved on the front, together with initials of the donars. The pewter cross and candlesticks came from the closed Seaman's Mission chapel in Barry Dock.

As a side note the Seaman's Mission was built at the turn of the century and opened its doors to the visiting seamen in 1905. It served more than 30,000 seamen and their families annually. It closed recently and has now been converted into flats. The outer fabric of the building was saved and I intend to visit for a photo in the near future.

Not the most interesting of photos but I quite liked the fact that these artifacts have been reused.
