A break (short) in the wet weather. Much rubbing of lens with cloth was required.

Lovely church in the Piltown parish, County Kilkenny, Ireland.

Aspects of its interior are apparently modelled on the Catholic Cathedral on Barronstrand Street, Waterford city. Namely the plaster pillars lining each side of the nave and the Romanesque ornamentation of the pillars upholding the back gallery and choir, visible as you enter the church (See above picture). The Lacy brothers worked as contractors on both churches, hence the resemblance, as they took their inspiration from the Cathedral in Waterford.

I visited the area on 6th and 7th of October. This shot was taken on the 6th and boy was it wet.

Lovely church in the Piltown parish, County Kilkenny, Ireland. Immaculate inside with notable stain glass windows (I'll post one later). I had a nice chat with a lady inside the church who was preparing the church for a future service.

Walked by the river for a few miles and then back to Carrick for a spot of lunch. I always find Towns with rivers have a certain charm and this shows Carrick off very well. The old bridge can be seen in the distance.

Spent an enjoyable 2 nights at this hotel last week. Friendly staff and great meals in the Bar.

It was a perfect base to tour the area where my wife's father and his parents come from.
