Built by the Normans in the 12th Century includes an unusual font, a tower with a gabled roof and a leper's window through which people with infectious diseases could see the altar.

The whole building retains traces of the whitewash that once covered Vale churches in former centuries and is a Grade 1 listed building.

St Bridget's Church in St. Brides Major, South Wales. Although of Norman origin, the church was rebuilt in the 14th century and heavily restored in 1851.

The Norman origins of St Bridget's Church are seen in the round-headed chancel arch. Of particular interest are the monuments in the chancel to the Butler and Wyndham families. A 13th century incised slab shows Sir John le Botiler in full armour; a 16th century tomb-chest of John and Jane Butler has the couple lying recumbent, he in armour, with their children as 'weepers' shown on the side.
