I'd been meaning to post this image from October 2020 for quite a while. The levels on the River Trent were high, which meant that I could obtain a view that was close to the surface of the water. Luckily, I was blessed with a really excellent sky, which provided ideal subject matter for a vivid reflection during the one second exposure

This is another image that I have processed in only recent times. The image shows a bridleway in Oxton, Nottinghamshire, being partially lit by low Autumn sunshine. The sides of this woodland actually contain a BMX style course and I'd been trying unsuccessfully to find a strong composition in this area. Just at the end of the shoot, however, I came across this scene, which upon processing, I felt was actually a slightly stronger image than I first thought.

There is a spot in Highfields Park, Nottingham where some mature rhododendrons reveal their branches and snake in different directions. I converted the image to mono to try and reveal their shapes and textures.

Just over four years ago, the residents of Swarkestone in South Derbyshire had some serious worries about flooding as the River Trent rose above its banks. This has become an increasingly familiar story as time goes on as flood events in the UK become more frequent and I cannot remember a winter that has been as wet as the one that we have just had.

This was a late afternoon image that I took from a bridge overlooking the A50 dual carriageway at Swarkestone, to the south of Derby. I wanted to compose the image so that the lorry was juxtaposed with the fast moving traffic
