I'm afraid I don't know much about this fly except that tachina flies are widely distributed around the globe with more than 8000 species already known and many more still to be recognised. I believe they are all protelean parasitoids which are organisms that begin the growing phase of their lives as parasites, and in particular, typically as internal parasites.

All my insect pics are single, handheld shots of live insects in wild situations.
