My favorite fair shot (tho I didn't take many). While the wheel spun, it also raised up to nearly vertical. I was annoyed that they turned off all the lights but the center strobe, but it allowed for a really long exposure (20 secs) and captured the fading light in a cloudy sky and these lovely subtle swirly smooth colors.
I dig it.

On my way home yesterday, this is the sight that greeted me along Highway 1 from Morro Bay to my town of San Luis Obispo. This is Cerro Remuldo, one of the Seven Sisters, a small chain of volcanic mini mountains that march from San Luis to the sea, ending with a flourish in the form of Morro Rock. Green fields lit by the sun as fog rolls over the mountain from the ocean just a few miles behind it. Times like these are one of the few when I fear a still image cannot do justice to the feeling of watching the rolling wall of fog move and twist, curl around this striking chunk of rock. At times the rock face would begin to hide in the fog, and then it would swoop behind and the sea of flowers would be bathed in glorious sun.
This was, obviously, an exposure nightmare, and I didn't have a tripod with me. I blended three exposures (what a pain when they're not lined up!) - one for the sky & clouds, one for the green field, and one for the dark foreground. Tasty result, I think, and nearly approximates what I was lucky enough to see. :)
