Although this spot of exploration was not vast like the ocean, there were perils for the unprotected explorer. A heavier submersible gear was deployed.

I get a lot of dm’s asking about the camera I use for my underwater photographs. I guess this is as good a moment to reveal that as any.

All my underwater photographs over the years have been taken with an Olympus TG-4. It’s a wonderful point-and-shooter, perfect for any toy (or just any) photographer out there. It’s very durable, protected against shocks, it’s waterproof, it delivers excellent RAW files, it has wi-fi for those who like to go straight from camera to a portable editing device etc...

The big bonus is the macro, it gets you as close to your subject as the camera physically allows.

I see the TG, or Tough, as they call it, a great all around carry on camera. I have it with me almost always wherever I go. It allowed me to create and develop the underwater Lego photography look easily, bar the trouble of traveling, it was my trusted tool for this pioneering exploration.

The Olympus TG is now at version 6, it’s worth checking out.

This was not a paid advert mind you, Olympus the manufacturer had nothing to do with it. I just like the camera.
